Camp Westminster Annual Fund
Summer 2007 at Camp Westminster was an exciting and memorable season! We
were witness to God’s hand at work in the lives of our campers and our
staff. We were blessed with safety. We were blessed with fellowship and
deep friendships. Most importantly, our counselors were blessed to be
present as 19 campers made professions of faith!
Preparation has already begun for next summer’s program. We are continuing
to improve the programs and the camper experience at Camp Westminster. We
are also tailoring the camping sessions to make them more affordable and
available to our campers who have demanding summer schedules. You may know
that the numbers of our summer campers have declined in recent years as
children participate in more organized activities during summer months.
Additionally, the expanding school year has compressed, by several weeks,
the duration of summer break.
Over the next few months, Camp Westminster will be campaigning to raise
Annual Fund contributions. Tuition paid by our campers does not defray all
the costs of operating Camp Westminster. These Annual Funds will be used at
the discretion of the Board for operating expenses such as staff wages,
veterinarian costs and insurance. Excess contributions above those needs may
be applied toward refurbishing the facilities. In recent years, gifts to
Camp Westminster have been used to acquire additional property, re-roof the
cabins, paint the dorms, improve the signage, and upgrade our horse program
in order to preserve the camping experience.
How can you help?
First of all, be in prayer for the ministry of Camp Westminster. We serve the
one, true God whose ability to bless knows no bounds. Pray that we remain
faithful to the mission of Camp Westminster and that our staff will be specially
blessed to deliver that mission to a host of campers in Summer 2008.
Secondly, we would ask that you make an immediate gift to Camp Westminster’s
Annual Fund and a pledge to give each of the next 3 years. We have accompanied
this letter with a short form and a postage-paid envelope to assist you. The
need is urgent, so please respond promptly.
Thirdly, we ask that you share your good experience and high regard for Camp
Westminster with others. Camp Westminster has the capacity to accommodate more
campers in some of the summer sessions. Word of mouth and direct testimonies
of God’s impact on lives through Camp Westminster has served to attract campers
to Conyers, Georgia for generations.
Friends, Camp Westminster needs you to respond right now! God’s blessings have
permitted the Camp to forego broad-based fundraising campaigns for decades. We
believe His blessing through your gifts will help secure the Camp’s future and
preserve continued focus on the Camp’s mission.
Sincerely,
