An excerpt from the Alumni News Letter
A Gift of Love and Labor Early in the summer, one of our Counselors re- quested that her summer wages be applied toward the scholarship program for campers who other- wise could not afford to attend camp. As it so happened, the next day a letter arrived from a mother who had attended CW back in 1978. The following is an excerpt of that letter: “I attended Camp Westminster as a child back in 1978 –1980... I remember my mother buying this big trunk and filling it with all the things I would need...I can remember so much about my experiences at camp…. As a result of this request, part of the counselor’s generous gift was applied to pay for that child’s camp tuition. Additionally, we have arranged for the camper to bunk in her cabin during her week at camp. We do not typically identify the scholar- ship campers to our counseling staff but in this case we are going to let the counselor know, con- fidentially, that there is someone in her cabin who is directly benefiting from her scholarship gift.
